We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Legal Secretary to join our high-performance legal team. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining our legal operations and ensuring the smooth running of our corporate legal department.
Responsibilities
As a Corporate Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting our corporate legal team in preparing and revising legal documents, agreements, and contracts.
2. Managing secretary of state filings, including incorporation documents, amendments, mergers, and dissolutions.
3. Drafting wills, trusts, and other non-testamentary documents
4. Maintaining and organizing legal files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all legal documents are accurate and properly filed.
5. Assisting in the preparation of legal opinions and briefings.
6. Communicating effectively and professionally with clients, attorneys, and other staff members.
7. Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information as required.
8. Providing administrative support to the legal team such as answering phone calls, managing correspondence, and maintaining the calendar.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Corporate Legal Secretary position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably within a law firm supporting corporate and transactional attorneys
2. Proficiency in secretary of state filings and a strong understanding of corporate law.
3. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
9. A paralegal certificate or equivalent legal education is preferred but not required.
