We are currently seeking a dedicated, and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our clients dynamic team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our engineering team, contributing significantly to our financial operations. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of cost accounting, including inventory, manufacturing accounting, and cost accounting. This role is crucial to our organization, as it directly impacts our financial decision-making and strategic planning. **Responsibilities:**
1. Implement cost accounting systems and strategies to provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems.
2. Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margin analysis by product, customer type, and division.
3. Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, and analyze inventory evaluation and roll forward.
4. Coordinate with the inventory department to investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
5. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies regarding cost analyses and profitability.
6. Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory and gross margin schedules to management.
7. Collaborate with the engineering department to understand and monitor manufacturing costs and suggest cost-saving initiatives.
8. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others.
9. Ensure valid and accurate master item set-ups in the ERP system.
**Qualifications:**
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. **Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish** is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
4. Expert proficiency in Excel and strong experience with ERP systems.
5. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles, including GAAP.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in **English and Spanish**, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
8. Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions and a passion to learn and grow.
9. Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
10. CPA or CMA certification would be considered an asset.
