Job Details
We are seeking a Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing to join our Houston-based finance team. This role plays a critical part in driving financial accuracy, analyzing production costs, and supporting operational efficiency across global sites.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and report manufacturing costs including labor, materials, and overhead.
Assist in developing and maintaining standard cost models.
Perform variance analysis (actual vs. standard) and communicate key drivers to management.
Partner with production and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost capture and inventory valuation.
Prepare monthly cost roll-ups and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Review and reconcile inventory transactions and conduct cycle counts.
Support internal and external audits with detailed cost and inventory data.
Recommend process improvements and support ERP enhancements related to costing.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
Experience with large ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.).
Proficient in Excel and data analysis tools.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
