We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Customs Manager to join our team. This role involves managing all aspects of customs and compliance within our global logistics operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in compliance, logistics, customs, and 3PL, and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement customs compliance strategies to ensure all operations are in line with local and international regulations.
2. Oversee all customs and logistics operations, including the management of 3PL providers.
3. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
4. Create and implement training programs to educate staff on customs regulations and compliance requirements.
5. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve any customs-related issues.
6. Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and advise management on any potential impacts.
7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities and 3PL providers.
8. Oversee the preparation and submission of all necessary documentation for customs clearance.
9. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to customs and compliance.
10. Lead and mentor a team of customs and compliance specialists.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirements.
4. Proven experience managing 3PL providers.
5. Strong leadership and team management skills.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Office and customs management systems.
10. Certification in customs management or a related field would be an advantage.
