Job Details
As our next Data Center Operations Systems Chiller Plant Specialist, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical chiller plants, including centrifugal chillers, pumps, and associated equipment, ensuring optimal cooling performance by monitoring system parameters, troubleshooting malfunctions, and performing preventative maintenance tasks to maintain efficient chilled water production for data center processes.

- Responsible for and maintain 100% critical systems uptime.
- Monitor chiller plant operations - temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and electrical parameters to identify potential issues.
- Adjust chiller settings and operating parameters as needed to maintain the desired cooling capacity.

- Mentor and train technicians to act as first responders.
- Support MOP, SOP, AND EOP document creation for all mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with the Controls Engineering Team to ensure all chiller plant equipment is operating efficiently.
- Project manage troubleshooting efforts with the onsite team to completion
- Oversee the QA for all vendor and contractor preventative and/or corrective maintenance
- Accurate and timely completion of work orders
- Perform assigned collateral duties and tasks assigned by management staff.
- Attend assigned meetings and training
- Maintain a professional appearance
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
- High School Diploma or equivalent; and Technical Trade School related to HVAC or related field.
- 3 years of experience in the general field as a full-time employee
- Experience in operating and maintaining a chiller plant, both on the mechanical and control side.
- Familiar with the Daikin brand is preferred
- Able to teach our technicians to be first responders to alarms and critical events on a chiller plant.
- Able to assist with creating policies and procedures for chiller plants.
- Certifications are strongly preferred - i.e., Outlook Fundamentals, OSHA 10, Material Equipment Operator (MEO), First Aid/CPR, NFPA-70E (Arc Flash), Golf Cart, Data Center University, Building Fire Riser, and Fire Extinguisher
- Microsoft Suite: Must have Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Some knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems that may be employed in a data center environment, i.e., including electrical feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS Systems, DC Power Systems, ATS/STS units, PDU units, breakers, batteries, load bank connections, CRACs, air handling units, fluid coolers, pumps, cages, and fire suppression systems.
- Knowledge of data center, safety, electrical, and cooling designs
- Must follow established safety practices and procedures in applicable situations
- Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must possess basic typing, email, and computer skills
