Data Scientist

Are you ready to take on a pivotal data science role at a fast-growing connected health startup? Are you itching to put your talents to work helping patients in a direct and meaningful way? We're now hiring a data scientist to help scale up our company to the next stage of growth.

Your responsibilities:

• Work across our company’s functions (product, engineering, sales, marketing, etc) to identify places where company data can drive better decisions
• Perform exploratory data analysis to look for insights and patterns that can help confirm product hypotheses or to gather data that can be translated to directly improve our products
• Join cross functional teams looking for opportunities to create salable data products leveraging our unique platform’s adherence records
• Manage a suite of reports and data pipelines that allow the company to self-serve data requests (most routine data uses here have already been automated.) Work on progressive improvement and refinements to our self-service tools
• Help manage a data science roadmap and work queue that provides visibility across the organization as to which initiatives, tasks and requests are prioritized
• Participate in working team meetings to improve our products and service offerings, bringing a perspective on data
• Help consolidate and manage our data dictionary, and work with engineering on upgrades and improvements to our data pipeline infrastructure.
• Work closely with our customers and partner’s statisticians and data scientists to run analysis, communicate results, double check work and provide a guide to our data sets

What we are looking for:

• Robust data science skills including exploratory data analysis, descriptive analytics, model building, predictive modeling, confidence intervals
• At least several years of experience with a report generation tool (Tableau preferred)
• Comfort writing both exploratory and production-level code in Python to automate report and data generation where needed
• Very strong SQL skills (we are a Postgres shop)
• Previous career exposure to pharamecual-, health-, medical- or patient-related products and services
• Experience with large IoT data sets
• Comfort working with, and defending analysis to, other statisticians or customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
• Ability to independently own and drive their own tasks
• Experience with both ad-hoc reporting, exploration and modeling as well as building automated tools that need to be resilient and quality-checked

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years in a data science position
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a data science related field (statistics, machine learning, data engineering, mathematics, etc)
