Job Description:
The Demand Planner is a key member of the Supply Chain Planning team reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain Planning. The Demand Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining reliable forecasts at the SKU/location level. This position leads the dialogue each month with the Sales team. The Demand Planner analyzes historical shipments and incorporates data gathered from market intelligence, sales, customers, and product management to create a consensus forecast. The goal of this position is to continuously improve service levels while minimizing inventory investment.

The Demand Planner analyzes historical shipments and incorporates data gathered from market intelligence, sales, customers, and product management to create a consensus forecast. The goal of this position is to continuously improve service levels while minimizing inventory investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons.
- Calculates and maintains statistical baseline forecasts based on historical information.
- Consistently achieve sustainable forecast accuracy & bias improvement in support of improving customer on-time in-full requirements and optimizing supply chain costs.
- Effectively collaborate across the organization with Product Management and Sellers to gain product knowledge and customer insights to enrich the statistical forecast models.
- Identifies and documents key demand management and forecasting decisions based on Sales and Product Management forecasting reviews.
- Analyze forecast trends and effectively communicate relevant data to Supply Planners.
- Executes item realignment and phase-in / phase-out items and coordinate with Supply Planners.
- Generate necessary reports to be utilized during monthly meetings with Product Managers and Sellers Identify gaps and scenarios that will be presented.
- Prepare and maintain forecast metrics monthly and identify areas in need of improvement and communicate recommendations.
- Incorporate market and industry research, best practices benchmarking and market-specific constraints into demand planning improvement strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain Planning.
Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years of Supply Chain experience preferably in Forecasting/Demand Planning .
- Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain (S&OP/IBP planning).
- Experience in statistical modeling techniques and concepts of Forecasting such as MAPE and BIAS.
- Strong working knowledge of demand planning process within the Food and Beverage industry.
- Experience in analyzing data to perform Root Cause Analysis, ROI, and Cost Benefit Analysis.
- Strong organizational skills accompanied by the flexibility to quickly adapt in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Superior analytical ability to break down complex problems into manageable pieces.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Organized with excellent follow through capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Demonstrates full proficiency and knowledge of JDA/Blue Yonder software or equivalent demand planning system, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (MS D365 preferred).
- Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively across the organization to accomplish strategic objectives.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, ownership, commitment and focus to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to model the Company’s values of respect for people, teamwork, and continuous improvement utilizing the 32 Batory Basics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field or five years of equivalent experience in supply chain within a food ingredient or food manufacturing business with demonstrated food supplier knowledge.
