Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert legal counsel on all matters related to employment law and litigation, ensuring the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Develop and implement effective legal strategies to manage litigation risks and disputes, including managing outside counsel.
3. Collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop strategic initiatives and policies related to employment and litigation.
4. Advise on a broad range of employment matters, including hiring practices, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
5. Lead the preparation and review of legal documents such as contracts, agreements, policies, and procedures.
6. Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its employees, providing proactive legal advice.
7. Develop and deliver training to HR and management on employment law issues and best practices.
8. Represent the company in legal proceedings, demonstrating exceptional negotiation and litigation skills.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar.
2. 8-10 years of experience as an employment law and litigation attorney, preferably within the finance industry.
3. Proven experience as a Director & Associate General Counsel - Litigation & Employment or similar role.
4. Deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
5. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic approach to addressing complex legal issues.
7. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
8. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
9. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
