Director of Nursing - Hospice

We are a dedicated hospice care provider whose mission is to deliver individualized care to all our patients and their loved ones during this vulnerable time in their lives. We are growing into multiple markets adding new locations and opportunities monthly!

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to oversee our nursing team and ensure the highest quality of care for our patients in a home hospice setting. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the overall management and direction of the nursing department, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures, as well as the coordination of patient care with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Manage and supervise the nursing team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Oversee patient assessments, including admission assessments, and ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed and updated.
• Coordinate patient care and ensure that the nursing team provides comprehensive care and services, including pain and symptom management, wound care, and medication administration.
• Monitor patient outcomes and ensure that quality of care is maintained at the highest level.
• Participate in the development and management of the department budget.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and healthcare providers to promote the organization and its services.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
• Current Virginia nursing license
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 2+ years of experience in hospice care
• Management experience, preferably in a hospice or home health setting
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations and requirements
