Description:
The Director of Power System Protection Engineering is responsible for the supervision and technical support of the relay and modeling engineering group. The Director will act as the Engineer of Record for design performed in house. The Director is responsible for scheduling, engineering labor estimate, relay settings, communication design, NERC compliance, and owner engineers’ responsibilities in support of projects. The Director is also responsible for standard development and cost control for projects.

Qualifications:
Education and Certifications
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 10-15 years of directly related electric utility engineering experience with 5 years of leadership in a relay engineering group.
- Demonstrated knowledge of power system components and related communications and protection functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NERC PRC standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of power system modeling tools such as PSSE, PSCAD and ETAP.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills, including mentoring, coaching, and developing employees in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze performance, process improvements, and standardization activities.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Nice To Haves
- PE or ability to retain is preferred.
