This is an on-site role located in Brooklyn Park, MN.

In order to be considered for this role, you must be a strong advocate in the regulatory space so you can help move our registrations through the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and local regulatory bodies. We are NOT looking for someone within internal quality/ISO/Lean.

General Description:
The Director, of Regulatory Affairs oversees the Regulatory department and is accountable for providing leadership and direction in the implementation of regulatory strategy for ensuring the company’s operations comply with US EPA and international regulations and company policies. The Director is a key member of the new product development team and will aid in facilitating the commercialization of new products.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of regulatory strategies to support the achievement of business objectives, while ensuring compliance, with domestic and international regulations.
  • Provide interpretation and training of domestic and international regulatory requirements to the Company’s management and staff.
  • Implement and maintain processes and systems to ensure accurate, complete, and timely submissions to regulatory agencies to meet business objects.
  • Participate in new product development and in preparing new products for commercialization
  • Engage in industry task forces and trade organizations to enhance work and to build relations with key regulatory agency personnel
  • Establish and maintain a process to participate in the review of process/product changes, labeling, claims, complaints, etc. to determine the need for regulatory submissions and to ensure compliance with international and domestic regulations.
  • In partnership with the VP of Regulatory & Affairs, attract, develop, and retain quality regulatory staff to foster an environment that motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.
  • Continuously lead change and improvement; regularly assess effectiveness of the regulatory and quality program, and develop and implement enhancements to continuously improve upon business processes and the quality program.
  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the quality system processes relative to strategic planning, design control, risk management, product and process change control, document management and control, management reviews, and quality training systems.
  • Partner with the VP of Regulatory & Quality in directing activities required in the management of the quality system to ensure compliance and facilitate efficient business operations.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of regulatory experience with US EPA’s (Environmental Protection Agency) Office of Pesticide Programs, international regulatory process requirements or a combination of both with 5+ years of management experience leading regulatory or compliance staff.
  • Working knowledge of European regulatory processes including Biocidal Products Regulation, Plant Protection Regulation, OECD, REACH and CLP a definite plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
