Job Details
Responsibilities:
As an EHS Specialist, you will:
1. Implement, manage, and enforce safety programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
3. Develop and deliver EHS training programs to all levels of staff to ensure understanding and adherence to safety procedures.
4. Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, and complaints concerning potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the workplace.
5. Develop and maintain documentation such as MSDSs, Emergency Action Plans, and Accident Reports.
6. Collaborate with project management teams and employees to devise strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety.
7. Monitor changes in EHS legislation and initiate necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
8. Participate in the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring that EHS considerations are embedded from the design stage.
9. Liaise with regulatory bodies and local authorities as required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an EHS Specialist in the industrial construction sector.
2. Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
3. In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards.
4. Proven experience in conducting safety audits and inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
5. Strong training and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
6. Certification as a Safety Professional or Industrial Hygienist is desirable.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to implementing effective solutions.
8. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
