Electrical Engineer/EV Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to learn EV (Electronic Vehicle - Engineering) and be the liaison between our US Engineering group and International Engineering group.

Must Haves:

• Currently lives or able to relocate within 2 hours from the Buffalo, NY area. If from Canada, must be a dual citizen.
• Must be willing to travel to HQ (an hour south of Buffalo, NY) and to China. Therefore, must have a VISA/Passport.
• Must be fluent in Mandarin.
• When this person is not traveling, work can be remote.
• Experience as an EV Engineer is ideal. Will accept Electrical Engineer candidates willing to learn EV (Electric Vehicle).
• Salary is $110-140k for a Jr-Mid level candidate and up to $170k for a Sr level candidate.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Develop our electric vehicle business for the expansion of the division.
• Develop strong ties with our international group and be a liaison directly between North America and them.
• Learn the technical capabilities of our international product offerings to assist local customers in identifying their requirements
• Responsible for overseeing and collaborating with teams for the development, engineering, testing, and implementation of projects, i.e., develop jointly: proposals, presentations, timing, costs, and plans for quotation and implementation.
• Coordinate with local and global teams for technical reviews; support all customer technical requirements through our international product resources.
• Attend sales meetings with customers to build relationships and strengthen the division
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization, including C-Suite and international divisions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to lead multi-discipline design reviews, testing and validation of this specific product/business.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of motor design and mechanical packaging in automotive environment
• Knowledge of EMC, LIN & Can bus a plus
• Ability to prepare engineering prototypes and support engineering with a “hand-on” approach a plus
• Strong working knowledge of automotive quality systems (APQP, DFMA, DFMEA, PFMEA, QFD, GD&T)
