Job Details:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Welding Shop Foreman to join our dynamic team. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical acumen and a passion for excellence. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of our welding shop, ensuring that all activities align with company standards and objectives. This role demands a strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting, high voltage testing, insulation resistance, oil sampling and analysis, substation operations, welding, blueprint understanding, GTAW, fabrication, circuit breaker repair, and transformer repair.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the welding shop, ensuring all activities comply with safety and quality standards.
• Lead a team of welders and other staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback as necessary.
• Perform high voltage testing, insulation resistance testing, and oil sampling and analysis.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs on substations, circuit breakers, and transformers.
• Utilize GTAW and other welding techniques in the fabrication process.
• Understand and interpret blueprints, ensuring all projects align with these specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Coordinate and manage project schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
• Continually evaluate operations and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience with electrical troubleshooting, high voltage testing, insulation resistance, oil sampling and analysis, and substation operations.
• Strong welding skills, with experience in GTAW and other techniques.
• Solid understanding of blueprints and the ability to interpret them accurately.
• Experience with fabrication, circuit breaker repair, and transformer repair.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.

• Relevant certifications or qualifications would be advantageous.
