Job Details

We are seeking passionate, hand-on Engineering Manager who will be responsible for mentoring and managing Engineers while also staying hands-on in product delivery. As an engineering organization we pride ourselves on engineering as a creative activity. Engineering managers enable engineers to do their best work by providing a culture and environment where engineers can achieve autonomy, mastery, and purpose. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Technical Leader who wants to stay hands-on while also managing a group of Software Engineers.

Responsibilities:
 Work with other Engineering Managers and Hiring Panel to recruit, interview and hire into the organization
 Work with other Engineering Managers and HR to cultivate talent and culture
 Day to day managerial activities to help engineers efficiently deliver value
 Hands-on contribution to technical design/architecture, code, and overall team delivery. All Engineering Managers are also individual contributors. Some Engineering Managers are also Tech leads
 Assess risk and influence outcome through clear feedback

Minimum Qualifications:
 2 years of experience leading software engineers (managing, mentoring less experienced engineers, technical leadership, providing feedback, working with stakeholders, hiring)
 Full Stack software design and engineering experience across the entire software development lifecycle
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field or equivalent practical experience
 Experience building and deploying Full Stack applications with Ruby on Rails, Node, React, or similar
 Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office setting while working

Preferred Qualifications:
 10 years of overall software engineering experience (coding, leading, architecting, supporting, testing)
 FinTech or Financial Services industry experience or closely related field (e.g. Real Estate, Payments, Legal)
 Detailed understanding of maintaining, operating, supporting, deploying, and troubleshooting Full Stack applications on Platform-as-a-Service, such as Heroku or AWS
 Scaling software development and delivery through patterns and practices
 Experience at growth stage startups
