We are currently seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Jr Estimator to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our exciting projects while honing your skills in preconstruction, site work, framing, bid estimation, and drywall. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and a proven track record of success. This position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the field.
Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the preconstruction process, including site visits, project analysis, and cost estimation.
2. Perform detailed quantity take-offs for all systems and components from conceptual and detailed designs.
3. Develop accurate, competitive, and detailed technical scope of work proposals based on project specifications and drawings.
4. Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications to identify, measure, and calculate different types of materials, labor, and equipment needs.
5. Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring they meet all client requirements and deadlines.
6. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects during the bid process.
7. Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure comprehensive bid coverage.
8. Conduct post-bid and pre-construction meetings and discussions.
9. Use construction software for plan reading, take-off, estimating, and proposal generation.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge about market trends, construction costs, and industry developments.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating.
2. Proven experience in preconstruction, site work, framing, bid estimation, and drywall.
3. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
4. Proficiency in using estimating software and standard office applications such as MS Excel.
5. Exceptional mathematical skills and analytical thinking.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
8. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
9. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
10. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
