As a Estimator in the Construction industry, you will play a crucial role in our company's project planning and execution. Your primary duties will include preparing detailed and conceptual estimates, reviewing project documents, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project completion. This position is a perfect fit for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about construction and project management.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform detailed takeoffs for assigned estimates, including self-performed trades such as concrete, masonry, steel, carpentry, drywall, and millwright work.
2. Use OnCenter and coordinate requirements for BIM generated quantification, with a preference for using Vico.
3. Prepare detailed and conceptual estimates, which may include working with self-perform to scope project, create bid list of subcontractors, trade partners, and suppliers, and ensure appropriate coverage with those groups.
4. Review drawings, specifications, and owner documents to establish scope of work contents for estimate and other respective deliverables.
5. Attend pre-bid and project meetings, prepare RFI's, and collaborate with A/E Firms to confirm document interpretation.
6. Use your extensive knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, database-based software (WinEst), take-off software (On-Center - On Screen Takeoff), and scheduling software (Microsoft Project or Primivera).
Qualifications:
1. Five to eight years of experience in construction estimating.
2. Proven experience in project bidding.
3. Familiarity with BIM tools, such as REVIT and/or Vico, is preferred.
4. A strong understanding of Excel spreadsheets, database-based software (WinEst), take-off software (On-Center - On Screen Takeoff), and scheduling software (Microsoft Project or Primivera) is required.
5. Ability to perform takeoffs required for the estimates they have been assigned to. This includes Self-performed Trades including Concrete, Masonry, Steel, Carpentry, Drywall, and Millwright work.
6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of professionals.
7. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
