The Facilities Manager will coordinate, oversee, advise and lead the tool/fixture makers, calibration specialists and maintenance personnel in their daily functions and tasks to ensure adherence to quality specifications and corporate throughput targets. Mechanical engineering focus required to fulfill duties of this role.

Job Details

Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with Mechanical Engineering focus
  • Commensurate experience in areas above with demonstrated success.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in leadership role.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead team and provide technical leadership to tool/fixture makers, tool and equipment calibration specialists, maintenance technicians.
  • Ensure toolmakers are trained in maintenance of fixtures and specialty tools
  • Order and maintain spare parts stock.
  • Ensure safety rules and PPI being adhered to.
  • Responsible for the Tool & Maintenance monthly/annual budget.
  • Ensure PMs, calibrations or other timed tasks are performed prior to expiration
  • Report established metrics weekly (or recommend other metrics to measure effectiveness)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to multi-task and establish priorities based on business demands.
  • Experience with custom, components and assemblies.
  • Understanding of Lean principals and apply these techniques to remove waste from system.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work independently on projects and function effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity of design software programs (Catia, autocad, solidworks, etc.)
  • PC proficient, working knowledge of MS Office applications (Especially Excel).
