In this role the Financial Analyst will be identifying the need for accrual entries, preparing amortization schedules for prepaid and deferred items, reconciling general ledger account balances, and preparing correcting entries identified during that reconciliation. May also support identifying impact of accounting transactions on reported cash flow and existing or contemplated debt covenants.

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to support business decisions. You will play a key role in ensuring that our financial operations and processes are in line with our strategic objectives. This role involves monthly and account analysis, transaction analysis, reporting, and accounting reconciliation. You will be working with various financial systems including SAP and will be expected to have a strong understanding of GAAP.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct monthly financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential areas of improvement.
2. Perform account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
3. Execute transaction analysis to understand the financial impact of business operations.
4. Develop and distribute financial reports to management and stakeholders, providing clear insights and recommendations.
5. Utilize SAP and other financial systems to record, track, and analyze financial data.
6. Create and manage pivot tables to summarize, analyze, and present financial data.
7. Perform accounting reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial reports and records.
8. Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data for financial analysis.
9. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing accurate and timely financial information.
10. Participate in special projects as required, providing financial expertise.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the Energy industry.
3. Solid understanding and knowledge of GAAP.
4. Proficient in SAP and other financial systems.
5. Strong experience with pivot tables and other data analysis tools.
6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
11. Experience in accounting reconciliation.
12. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
