Job Details:
We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our highly skilled team. This key role will contribute to the success of our organization by providing accurate, timely, and competitive estimates for heavy civil projects. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project success. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the estimating process, from initial project analysis to final bid submission. This role requires strong analytical skills, a keen understanding of civil construction processes, and a deep knowledge of the heavy civil construction industry.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Manage the entire estimating process: initial project analysis, estimate preparation, bid submission, and post-bid analysis.
• Utilize HCSS Heavy Bid software for efficient and accurate estimating.
• Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to accurately estimate total project costs.
• Evaluate cost-effectiveness and profitability of potential projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other professionals to ensure all estimates are accurate and competitive.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and material costs.
• Participate in project bidding, proposal development, and client presentations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating - specifically concrete.
• Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid software.
• Strong understanding of civil construction processes, including earthwork and concrete estimation.
• Excellent skills in blueprint reading and hard bid estimating.
• Proficiency with relevant software, including: Blue Beam Revu, AutoCAD, Trimble GPS Rover and Data Collection.
• Professional Estimator Certification (e.g., CPE, ASPE) is a plus.
• Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work product.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed for site visits and client meetings.
