Our company is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our dynamic team. We are a leading player in the industry and we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, innovation, and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and performance. This role is crucial to the success of our construction projects and clients and requires a professional with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
As a Heavy Equipment Technician, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Performing routine maintenance on heavy construction equipment such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, and cranes.
2. Diagnosing and repairing faults in heavy equipment machinery.
3. Ensuring all machinery and equipment meet safety standards and regulations.
4. Assisting with the procurement of parts and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance.
5. Conducting performance tests on repaired equipment to verify its functionality and safety.
6. Providing technical advice to the construction team and assisting with equipment operation when necessary.
7. Keeping detailed records of serviced machinery and submitting reports on equipment status and repair work.
8. Responding swiftly to any breakdowns or malfunctions on site to minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Heavy Equipment Technician position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician or in a similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with various heavy equipment brands, including but not limited to Cummins, Atlas Copco, Volvo, Kohler, and Kubota.
3. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance.
4. Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service heavy equipment.
5. Proficient in the use of all tools of the trade, including diagnostic equipment.
6. Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in the construction industry.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
8. Good physical condition and stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in outdoor conditions.
9. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various construction sites as needed.
10. Relevant certification or diploma in mechanical or heavy equipment maintenance would be an advantage.
