Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and services laptops, workstations, and related equipment and software used in administrative and classroom environments
  • Provides technical support and help functions to computer hardware and software, data communications, and connectivity
  • Receives and resolves user 'help desk' calls
  • Troubleshoots and performs various technical computer and repair duties
  • Installs and configures networked computer users
  • Participates in troubleshooting to resolve hardware and operations problems
  • Works with staff, equipment users to identify and resolve problems
  • Assists with updates to existing security software on networks and workstations
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position

Qualifications
  • Requires working technical knowledge of personal computer operations
  • Requires a basic knowledge of personal computer based local area networks, network operations, connectivity between servers, and integration of data and telecommunications
  • Requires sufficient writing skill to document technical procedures
  • Requires the ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot networked computer workstations, systems, and programs used by the District in department-specific, education, and general administrative areas
  • Must be able to install and configure computer components
  • Must be able to fabricate and connect interface cables and connections between computers
  • Requires the ability to be timely in customer service responses
  • Degree in computer science or related technical field preferred and 2 year of experience
  • Additional experience may substitute for some higher education
  • Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to transport equipment to and from work sites
