A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent HR Director for our Inpatient Rehab Hospital. This position plays a crucial role in managing the human resources department, overseeing all HR-related activities, and ensuring a professional and compassionate environment for our staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. They will also be responsible for managing the recruitment and selection process, performance management, and employee relations.

  • Manage recruitment (not overall, just interviewing pieces), benefits, onboarding, employee engagement, employee relations investigations, and special events. Has a generalist feel to it. You aren’t tied down to your desk in this role; it will be hands on. You will be out and about in the hospital with others.
  • Serves as a resource to the department managers and other employees
  • Don’t have to do payroll
  • Acts as a liaison between Corporate HR and hospital management

The Charleston facility has 49 beds with an average daily census of about 37 (patients).
There’s currently 160 total FTEs for the facility
  • This Human Resources Director position will have 1 direct report, an HR Assistant


Job Details

1. Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive.
2. People-oriented and results-driven.
3. Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
4. Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
5. Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
6. Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
7. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
8. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
9. Degree in Human Resources or related field.
10. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
11. Degree in Hospital Administration.
12. SPHR Certification.
13. PHR certified.
14. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
15. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
