Our organization is searching for a dynamic and experienced HR Generalist-Benefits to join our team. This role is integral to our human resources department and will be responsible for managing and administering employee benefits, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and fostering positive employee relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, specifically in benefits administration, within the construction or landscaping industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans; temporary disability programs; and wellness programs.
  • Evaluate and compare existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information.
  • Plan, develop, and/or participate in area and industry surveys. Analyze results of surveys and develop specific recommendations for review by management.
  • Develop specifications for new plans or modify existing plans to maintain company's competitive position in the labor market, and obtain uniform benefit coverage for all company locations, where possible.
  • Assure company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Supervise preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies.
  • Manage the process of FMLA and other leaves of absences.
  • Handle complex and sensitive employee relations issues, providing conflict resolution and guidance on performance management issues.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; and performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program, and cash flow.
  • Conduct employee meetings and arrange for enrollment of employees in optional plans. Conduct employee benefit seminars. Revises and reissues all communications material on benefits from time to time. Advises and counsels management and employees on existing benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a HR Generalist role with a focus on benefits administration.
  • Prior experience in the construction or landscaping industry is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of 401K, FMLA, and other employee benefit programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues and provide conflict resolution.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment laws.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Honest, ethical, and dependable.
