Job Details
The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Commercial Mechanical projects from contract award to completion. This role requires excellent project management skills, technical knowledge of HVAC systems, and the ability to lead a team of professionals to deliver high-quality results within established timelines and budgets.
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, in collaboration with stakeholders. - Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to manage the status of any contracts, submittals, RFIs, billing, and costs to ensure seamless project execution. - Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information and evaluate project requirements.
Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of HVAC engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. - Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance to ensure project objectives are met. - Foster a collaborative and productive work environment to enhance team performance.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, billing, and costs, ensuring adherence to financial goals. - Track project expenses, review invoices, and negotiate with suppliers to optimize costs. - Identify and address budget variances promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of HVAC systems, codes, regulations, and industry best practices. - Provide technical guidance and support to the project team to resolve complex issues. - Stay updated with emerging HVAC technologies and trends to drive innovation and efficiency.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations. - Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and address any deviations or deficiencies. - Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and change requests. - Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction. - Communicate project progress, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare project documentation, including contracts, submittals, specifications, RFIs, progress reports, billings, and change orders. - Maintain accurate records of project activities, communication, and important decisions. - Generate comprehensive project reports and present updates to management and clients as required.
Job Requirements
Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as an HVAC Project Manager or in a similar role.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation practices.
Knowledgeable and competent with contracts, blue prints, submittals, specifications, RFIs, progress reports, billings, and change orders.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional communication, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
