Insurance Defense Attorney

We seek a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join our team and work in the Insurance Defense space. As an Associate Attorney, you will defend big box brands such as grocery store chains and restaurants in premises liability and dangerous conditions suits. You will work closely with other attorneys in our firm and be responsible for managing an existing caseload.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience:

The candidate will be eligible for a billable hours bonus ranging from $40 to $50 per hour.
Defend clients in premises liability and dangerous conditions suits.
Manage a caseload, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and appearing in court.
Work closely with clients and other attorneys to develop legal strategies.
Attend depositions, mediations, and court hearings as needed.
Research and analyze legal issues as they arise in cases.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Bill time and expenses accurately and timely.

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the California state bar and in good standing.
1+ years of experience in insurance defense.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks.
Excellent legal research and writing skills.
Experience attending depositions and court hearings.
Experience conducting discovery.
Exceptional billable hours bonus tied to the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience defending big box brands in premises liability and dangerous conditions suits.
Heavy deposition experience.
Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
