Litigation Associate - Hybrid Schedule

An award-winning law firm in San Francisco is seeking an associate with 2 -6 years of general and/or professional liability experience to join their practice. This opening is with a well-established firm looking to expand their San Francisco office. The firm has multiple locations throughout the state of California and offers hybrid flexibility.

The firm handles general liability, professional liability, labor and employment, business, and defense litigation. This position will strictly focus within general and professional liability. They are seeking an associate with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Construction Defect
• General Liability
• Professional Liability
• Insurance Defense

All applicants should have significant in experience in discover and law and motion practice. All applicants should be comfortable handling cases from inception to close.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court and administrative proceedings
• Conduct legal research and provide legal advice to clients
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs
• Participate in all aspects of the discovery process, including document production and depositions
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial testimony
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Manage and prioritize a large caseload
• Collaborate with partners and other associates on cases

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice law in the state where the position is located
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in general liability, professional liability, construction defect law, trial experience, insurance defense litigation, discovery, law and motion practice
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Ability to manage a large caseload and prioritize tasks
• Strong work ethic and commitment to client service
