We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support to our team of attorneys, focusing primarily on litigation matters. This role requires extensive experience in handling complex litigation cases, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Legal Assistant, you will be expected to:
1. Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
2. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas.
3. Coordinate and manage court deadlines, including tracking and meeting key dates.
4. E-file documents in state, federal, and appellate courts.
5. Conduct legal research and factual investigations.
6. Organize and maintain case files and trial notebooks.
7. Liaise with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
8. Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings and managing attorney calendars.
9. Review and summarize legal documents and reports.
10. Ensure compliance with legal procedures and court rules.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant, preferably in a law firm setting.
2. Proficiency in e-filing in state, federal, and appellate courts.
3. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formatting.
4. Highly skilled in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and managing complex litigation cases.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
7. Proficiency in using legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. A paralegal certificate or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
9. Exceptional attention to detail and high degree of professionalism.
