Machinist

Our client is a reputable manufacturing and field-service company specializing in upstream, midstream, and downstream maintenance and installation services.

Responsibilities

As a Machinist, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints to understand the requirements of products and components.
2. Determining and programming size of batches, speed of machine, etc.
3. Monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and determining product specifications.
4. Performing routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
5. Using precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
6. Fabricating and shaping parts to fit into subassemblies and assemblies.
7. Using micrometers, verniers, calipers, vices, clamping fixtures, machine vices, hand tools, and dowel pins.
8. Conducting quality control checks through inspections and tests.
9. Documenting completed work and maintaining records.
10. Ensuring the shop area is kept clean and organized at all times.
11. Adhering to all safety protocol and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist in the manufacturing/construction industry.
3. Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc.)
4. Ability to use precision tools (e.g., micrometers) to take accurate measurements.
