Job Details

The Maintenance Manager’s mission is to plan, organise and coordinate the engineering and technical operations of the maintenance team to provide innovative solutions to improving equipment reliability and productivity along with coaching and mentoring your team to deliver successful solutions for the plant.

  • Work collaboratively with the site management team to ensure continuous improvement, reliability and
productivity of plant.
  • Coach and inspire team members to achieve objectives with a well-balanced, multi-skilled, high performing team.
  • Implement the site maintenance and engineering strategy and actively seek ways to improve it by interpreting
plans, drawings and specifications, and providing advice on methods and procedures to achieve production
requirements with 90% uptime in each area of the plant.
  • Determine, implement and monitor maintenance and engineering strategies, policies and plans to support the
plant with key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring conformity with specifications and plans, and with laws, regulations and safety standards.
  • Ensure standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness and performance are observed.
  • Oversee maintenance and engineering requirements to optimise efficiency

schedules and timetables with clear, specific milestones and deadlines.
  • Commercial Acumen – Proven ability to apply rigorous and structured analysis to complex problems, identifying
options, and recommending defined courses of action.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills – Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability
to establish collaborative business partnerships and positively influence and negotiate with others to achieve
significant business outcomes.
  • Innovation – Proven ability to develop and implement innovative approaches to optimising manufacturing
performance and service delivery targets and priorities.
  • Leadership – Strong track record of leadership abilities in delivering business outcomes within a manufacturing

In addition to the key attributes above, the successful incumbent will also bring the following knowledge, skills and
experience to the role:

  • Appropriate Tertiary qualifications or Trade qualifications with appropriate related competencies in electrical or
mechanical discipline or associated field.
  • Significant experience in safety management practices and implementation.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor staff and engage with all levels of the
organisation.
  • Operational experience leading a multi-skilled team within a manufacturing plant including demonstrated
experience in reliability centered maintenance processes, application of root cause analysis and elimination,
maintenance budgets and computer maintenance management systems.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or TPM type methodology would be advantageous.
