Job Details
Ensure proper operation of production-related equipment.
Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, and routine adjustments.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to equipment failures.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
Analyze and solve electro/mechanical problems of processing, packaging, and auxiliary equipment.
Interpret electrical schematics, understand technical manuals, and follow written instructions.
Interpret technical information necessary for proper repairs to equipment.
Use of diagnostic equipment including multimeters and other test instruments.
Communicate with the Production Team and other mechanics to identify problematic areas of concern.
Perform established preventative maintenance and identify new activities, as needed.
Follow and understand verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
Support any after-hours building needs and activities as required.
Participate in daily meetings, prioritizing and reviewing the daily schedule of work.
Interface with all departments and other personnel in an effective and efficient manner.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Strong Electrical skills preferred.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2+ years technical school or training.
2 + years in Maintenance Mechanic role or related experience and/or training; required.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of OSHA Standards, USDA, and SQF Regulations.
Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of facility efficiencies, and operations procedures.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good planning and priority-setting skills.
Bilingual a plus (Spanish Language).
Able to operate a scissor lift, forklift, pallet jack, and stand-up jack, etc.
May be required to work long hours and weekends.
May be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 75 lbs. or more
Employee will be subject to dust, noise, and odor.
Employee will be subject to cold weather conditions (28F)
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to push/pull heavy objects.
The physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to: Routine Standing, climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, sitting, feeling, and visual activity

Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment. Maintenance of building, grounds, and utility systems of the establishment.
