Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled SMT Technician to join our electronics manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, program, maintain, and optimize our surface mount tech line, ensuring efficient production of high-quality printed circuit boards (PCBs) using state-of-the-art SMT processes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

Operate & Program SMT Equipment:
  • Set up, program, and run machines including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and automated optical inspection (AOI) systems from start to finish.
  • Develop and implement programming routines to optimize the SMT process, ensuring precise component placement and soldering.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and programming updates of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, diagnose problems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

Process Optimization
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine processes, improve efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize programming skills to fine-tune the SMT process for optimal performance.
  • Write instructions for advanced manufacturing

Safety & Documentation
  • Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Keep accurate records of production data, equipment performance, programming updates, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working on an SMT assembly line or in electronics manufacturing is a must
  • Experience programming SMT equipment and developing production routines
  • Familiarity with solder paste application, component placement, reflow soldering, optical inspection systems, and associated programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as schematics and process instructions.

Education
  • A background in electronics technology, engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications or technical training in PCB assembly, SMT processes, or programming of industrial equipment are a plus.
