We are actively seeking a Contract Mechanical Engineer II to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects, where you will be tasked with designing, developing, and testing all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. As a Contract Mechanical Engineer II, you will be at the forefront of creating innovative mechanical solutions that meet the ever-evolving needs of our clients. This role requires a highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about problem-solving and mechanical design engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials to the design and production of our construction projects.
  • Design, evaluate, modify, or construct mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they are safely, ethically, and sustainably made and meet the needs of the client.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints, and to ensure successful project completion.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects.
  • Conduct research and create design proposals for projects.
  • Create accurate project specifications and bills of materials.
  • Test and evaluate theoretical designs, identifying and mitigating design risks before production.
  • Ensure all mechanical engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives.
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Solve problems using mechanical aptitude and creativity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools, such as AutoCAD, ProE, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas.
  • A strong understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong project and time management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • A commitment to staying current with updates and improvements in the field of mechanical engineering.
