Nurse Practitioner

This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and an FTCA-deemed facility. This Health Center is a deemed Public Health Service (PHS) center, receives Health & Human Services funding and has Federal PHS deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). It is also the only health care provider in Wheeler County. We operate an outpatient primary care clinic in Fossil 5-days a week, and satellite clinics in Spray and Mitchell. The Spray and Mitchell sites are each open 2-days per week for primary outpatient care: Wednesday and Friday in Spray, and Tuesday and Thursday in Mitchell. Additionally, full dental services are available at both the Fossil and Mitchell Sites.

Job Details:
1. Handling all clinical duties such as suturing, wound repair, obtaining pmhx, routine diagnostic procedures, diagnosis, and management of common/acute/chronic health problems
2. Ordering and interpreting lab work
3. X-Rays, castings, injections, and EKGs
4. Referral to other health specialists
5. Report directly to the Medical Director
6. Assist CMO in supervising daily operations
7. Lead staff of nurses and medical assistants

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree in nursing from a National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on College Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited graduate nursing program
2. Licensed by the Oregon Board of Nursing to practice within the state of Oregon - or eligible (open to relocations)
3. Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent national certification board
4. Certified in Basic Life Support
5. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
6. Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support
7. Ability to relate with warmth and effectiveness to the patients and other health care providers of Asher Community Health Center
8. Sufficient experience to carry out the duties of this position
