Job Details

POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Accountant will have a broad knowledge of payroll and benefit accounting. The position will have a wide range of payroll and benefit accounting functions, with an acute emphasis on attention to detail, transparent communication, and time-sensitive processing.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll Management
  • Set up, transfer, and terminate employees within the payroll system.
  • Confirm removal of terminated employees from all systems.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Review, prepare, and process monthly and quarterly bonuses.
  • Communicate with supervisors and hourly employees to ensure bi-weekly time reporting is accurate.
  • Research, resolve, and adjust time reporting discrepancies on a timely basis.
  • Ensure PTO is accurately reported for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Familiarity with wage and hour laws and ability to research issues as needed.
Benefit Compliance and Reporting
  • Reconcile individual employee health, dental, and third-party pass-through benefits to monthly billing from the benefit provider.
  • Assist HR with open enrollment.
  • Reconcile FSA (medical, dependent & limited) and HSA (employer and employee) accounts to providers reporting.
  • Allocate workers compensation expenses to properties and reconcile employee deductions to the providers billing.
  • Complete the processing and reporting of AwardCo activity within the payroll system.
  • Complete bi-weekly reporting of overtime hours.
  • Ensure accurate processing of employee garnishments.
  • Set up and maintain employees 401k and Roth contributions.
  • Set up and maintain employee 401k loans.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of Fidelity 401k data to the payroll system.
  • Perform annual 401k audit administered by PEC.
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion.

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Proven experience in processing complex payroll accounting
  • Oversee confidential matters with discretion
  • Understanding principles of payroll allocation
  • Experience in performing complex account-level reconciliations
  • Experience with Paycom a plus
