Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll system. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all aspects of payroll processing for employees across multiple states, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
2. Administering employee benefits and deductions, including health insurance, retirement contributions, and tax withholdings.
3. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
4. Coordinating with the HR department to verify employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
5. Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
6. Handling payroll-related inquiries and resolving any payroll issues that arise.
7. Implementing and maintaining payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with senior management on payroll-related issues.
8. Participating in audits and ensuring the organization's compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Payroll Administrator role, you must possess the following:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
2. Extensive experience with multi-state payroll processing, demonstrating a strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations across multiple states.
3. Proficiency in payroll software, along with strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
5. Strong mathematical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform complex calculations accurately.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
7. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
8. Professional certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) will be an added advantage.
