Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring all approved timesheets, commissions, bonuses, benefit deductions, and accruals are accurately calculated and entered.
  • Calculate complex commission structures based on job status, draws, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of project-related costs, including labor, addendums, and change orders.
  • Review and process AP/AR transactions, verifying accuracy, approvals, and proper GL coding within accounting software (Sage).
  • Prepare and process journal entries, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations, including AR, AP, deposits, and bank statements.
  • Support job-end and year-end closing processes with proper documentation and reconciliation reports.
  • Assist in payroll updates related to policy changes, employee reporting, or benefit adjustments on an annual, quarterly, or monthly basis.
  • Generate and file payroll registers, AP checks, and financial reports in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Contribute to annual budget planning and financial reporting by compiling schedules and verifying source data.
  • Support internal and external audits by organizing and providing backup documentation.
  • May supervise junior accounting staff and support training, delegation, and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct financial research and ad hoc analysis as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and financial data while promoting a collaborative and safe work environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll and full-cycle accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage preferred), along with MS Excel, Word, and web applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
