This position will ensure accurate and timely payment to employees, ensure all tax issues are accurate and addressed, process GL functions related to Payroll, support the system-wide implementation of best practices, process improvements, payroll system efficiencies.

This position will ensure accurate and timely payment to employees, ensure all tax issues are accurate and addressed, process GL functions related to Payroll, support the system-wide implementation of best practices, process improvements, payroll system efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for nearly 4,000 employees in both USA and Canada
- Analyze, audit, reconcile and resolve payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing under only general supervision
- Calculate and process deductions, benefits, garnishments, and stock options.
- Perform gross-to-net payroll calculation and the release and distribution of payroll checks
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal wage and hour laws.
- Perform payroll runs for hourly and salaried employees.
- Reconcile payroll data in the General Ledger (GL).
- Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Oversee the implementation of payroll systems
- Manage workers compensation and wage accruals.
- Ensure accurate reporting and calculation of payroll taxes.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax
- Experience with multi-state payroll tax is required. Canadian Payroll is a plus
- Proficient in payroll software such as ADP, Ultipro, or UKG Payroll.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
- Excellent customer service skills.
