Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Handle a caseload of personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, slip and fall, wrongful death, and other personal injury matters.
2. Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare and present cases in court.
3. Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel, and participate in mediations and arbitrations.
4. Conduct depositions, discovery practice, and motion practice.
5. Represent clients in court, including first chair trial and jury trials.
6. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and service.
7. Manage case files using Filevine and MS Office, and ensure legal compliance in all activities.
8. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members to develop strategies for case management and resolution.
9. Stay updated on the latest developments in personal injury law and use this knowledge to benefit our clients and the firm.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and active member of the Wisconsin Bar.
2. 5+ years of experience as a Personal Injury Attorney, with proven trial experience and first chair trial capabilities.
3. Strong knowledge of personal injury law and litigation, including experience with plaintiff litigation and PI litigation.
4. Excellent negotiation skills and experience with conflict resolution.
5. Exceptional legal writing and research skills.
6. Experience with legal document preparation, depositions, and discovery practice.
7. Proficiency in using case management software like Filevine and MS Office.
8. Excellent client communication skills, with a focus on building and maintaining strong client relationships.
9. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
10. Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate legal cases and provide sound legal advice.
