A bit about us:

Dr. David Shusterman at NY Urology with locations in both Forest Hills and Midtown East, New York City, New York is a board certified urologist who specializes in compassionate urological treatment. Dr. Shusterman started his career specialty in urology in July 1999 as a surgical resident at a number of prestigious facilities including University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill Hospital and the University of Chicago Hospital. In 2002, he continued his studies as a urology resident treating patients at a number of fine medical centers including Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. In June 2006, he became the urology chief resident at those same institutions.

Dr. Shusterman provides expert diagnoses and treatments for patients with kidney stones including:

urine tests
blood tests
ultrasound
minimally invasive surgery
stent placements
nephrostomy tubes
Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL)

Today, Dr. Shusterman is the Medical Director of urology at one of the most innovative practices in the state of New York. When he is not in the office seeing patients, Dr. Shusterman teaches urology to up and coming physicians. He serves as a urology expert witness for the legal community and writes progressive medical articles for industry journals. Dr. Shusterman often is recognized by his peers as one of the most compassionate urology specialists in the field.

A Physician Assistant, or PA, that seeking a medical professional in charge of examining, diagnosing and treating patients with the guidance of a Medical Doctor. Their duties include prescribing medications to cure illness, recording patient vital signs and running diagnostic tests to determine the source of the patient’s symptoms.

Physician Assistant duties and responsibilities
Physician Assistants perform a variety of duties that require close interaction with patients and their families. Here are some common duties and responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and gather medical information
  • Give physical exams to make correct diagnoses
  • Work with Physicians and Nurses to prescribe and administer treatments
  • Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment
  • Instruct patients and their families about best practices at home
  • Document and update patient records
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed
