Our client is seeking an experienced program manager to engage with and support an engineering team to develop and deliver a state-of-the-art generator technology for class 8 truck applications. The program manager is expected to develop and coordinate the information flow among management, engineering, operations, and sales to plan, execute and report the Company’s progress toward achieving its business objectives. The Program Manager will manage and enable the program deliverables for our generator technology out of West Chester, Ohio.

Essential Functions:

Lead the tactical delivery of major engineering programs, creating and managing program plans and tracking progress.
Daily interaction with engineering teams and proactive hands-on assistance to resolve issues and remove roadblocks.
Implementation of Stage Gate processes to clearly define milestones and gates.
Manage hardware, software, and vehicle system deliverables to ensure that timing is on track to meet prototype and production schedules. Development of countermeasures for off-track activities.
Track alignment of Requirements and Specifications to ensure production solutions meet original product expectations.
Lead the creation of financial forecasts and track monthly budgets.
Interact with Tier 1 suppliers and external consultants to ensure deliverables are achieved Proactively resolve issues as needed with minimal support.
Develop executive report-out materials providing updates on engineering status and project spends. Provide weekly health chart and status update reports.
Ensure that of key APQP documents including FMEAs and DVP&Rs are completed to drive product reliability and robustness.
Facilitate 8D and problem resolution workshops.
Create purchase orders for hardware and services.
Actively mentor and coach engineering team members in various areas including project management.
Manage the development of cost models for mechanical, electrical and battery system components.
Manage the planning for high volume manufacturing activities including product launch support.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High technical aptitude and track record of issue resolution.
Expert in program management tools.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Experience in powertrain, drivetrain and all associated support systems.
Experience in powertrain and vehicle certifications for emissions and safety.
Solid understanding Class-8 trucks, their sub-systems and application requirements.
Experience in high voltage and associated safety protocols.
High volume manufacturing experience.
Automotive industry and associated toolset awareness (FMEAs, DVP&Rs).
Experience in facilitating 8Ds.
Strong follow-through and self-starting nature.
Highly collaborative personality with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
Position will involve travel visiting engineering providers and hardware suppliers (10%).
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, set and meet agreed deadlines.
Ability to communicate with customers positively and effectively (internal and external), to address their needs promptly and to follow through on commitments.
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Qualifications:

10-15 years of experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Project Management Professional (PMP Certification).
Desired Qualifications:

MS in Program Management.
5-10 years in automotive industry.
