Job Details
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualifications:
- Assist the project management team with of all aspects of project accounting from contract award through project completion.
- Lead the planning, coordinating and administering of cost tracking and client billing processes. This may include day-to-day direction of onsite staff in record keeping, purchasing, inventory, etc.
- Understanding all financial aspects of a project while working together with the project team to maximize profit
- Assist the project manager in the identification and assessment of financial risks
- Prepare invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup for approval by project manager
- Analyze project actual, committed and planned costs on a very detailed basis to determine remaining costs to complete
- Manage project financial closeout along with project team. Ensure final contract amount and closeout documentation requirements have been met and agreed to by subcontractors prior to issuing final payments
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Support the management team and operational managers in the delivery of business targets and objectives and understanding reported numbers and KPIs
- Supporting the VP Finance with the improvement and development of effective and robust internal and operational controls and financial systems within the business
Qualifications:
- Relevant Degree (Accounting, Finance, Business etc.)
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience ideally in manufacturing environment with strong commercial acumen
- Understand accounting implications of various contract terms related to profitability and risk management. Able to perform cost analysis procedures
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Expert in excel, proficient in pivot tables & look ups
- SAP ERP and HFM knowledge highly desirable
