**Project Accountant - Houston, TX**

**About Our Client**
Our client, a dynamic industry leader, seeks a dedicated Project Accountant to oversee commercial contract administration, project invoicing, reporting, and data entry. This pivotal role also involves providing order processing support and ensuring accurate WIP and AX12 Projects Module management.

**Responsibilities**
  • Manage WIP reports from AX12, and scrutinize project revenues and costs for accuracy.
  • Analyze project manager health reports to validate/update costs and address significant discrepancies.
  • Update project costs based on health reports, new purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Cultivate effective communication with project managers for consistent job updates.
  • Calculate accrual entries for percentage-of-completion estimates and accruals.
  • Post weekly payroll expense journals, including hours & per diem expenses.
  • Monthly calculation of project commissions.
  • Collaborate with VP, USLAM, and Operations Manager for project reporting and updates.
  • Participate in revenue and cost of sales forecasting and budgeting with corporate finance.

**Qualifications**
  • Efficiently manage multiple complex projects under pressure with minimal guidance.

  • Display keen organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proficient team builder and communicator, capable of influencing change.
  • Experience in High Performing engineering organizations with insights to offer.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

**Requirements**
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of Project Accounting, Contract Review, SOX compliance, audits, or related experience.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with fast-paced, detail-oriented, deadline-driven environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Familiarity with financial systems.
