Job Details

Position Overview
Looking for an experienced Project Estimator to coordinate with the day-to-day operations of the estimating department. You’ll be responsible for the creation of production and installation estimates for potential projects and ensuring accurate formal proposals are sent to clients. You’ll work cross-functionally with sales, project management and finance to ensure we’re adhering to approved budgets and delivering timely feedback during the proposal process.

As a Project Estimator, your responsibilities will include:

Essential Functions
Review RFPs with the ability to analyze sign drawings and identify all necessary elements (material and labor) to perform accurate takeoffs from civil and architectural plan sets
Review and analyze scope of work, drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
Generate quote requirements and scope letters to send to subcontractors/vendors to obtain accurate proposals and solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualifications.
Partner with sales, business development, and project management on bids for new contracts - ensuring all operational and/or logistical issues are addressed and mitigated in a timely manner.
Maintain list pricing for regular items.
Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs.
Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods.
Maintain database of Subcontractors and Material Vendors.
Perform closeout/lessons learned reporting.
Strategically grow and cultivate vendor relationships in all regions.

About You
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, mathematics or a related field
3 to 5 years of estimating and cost control experience in signage or other relevant environment
Relevant experience and/or knowledge of print and fabrication means and methods
A strong understanding of construction and roles in the overall lifecycle of a project
Able to build and cultivate strong professional relationships with all types of industry professionals
Strong negotiation skills, a true team player (no ego’s here)
