Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Building automation team in the Central New York market. You will play a key role in leading and managing the successful execution of DDC control system projects in commercial buildings. Your expertise in project management, controls engineering, team leadership, and client communication will be instrumental in delivering high-quality and efficient building automation solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead project planning, implementation, and execution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on project submittals and drawings.
  • Manage project timeline, scheduling, and updates with the Project Management Team.
  • Regularly monitor and report project progress to the assigned Senior Project Manager.
  • Provide weekly reports to Management.
  • Maintain project contract documents.
  • Handle project submittals and approvals.
  • Proactively address potential issues and communicate cost impacts or change orders/RFIs promptly to the Project Coordinator.
  • Review Bill of Materials and submittals, ensuring material order accuracy in coordination with the Project Coordinator.
  • Supervise subcontractor installation and resolve installation challenges.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the project team.
  • Test and configure system database, oversee commissioning, and manage project closure.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers, prime contractors, subcontractors, and trade personnel.
  • Prioritize employee and subcontractor safety, adhering to company safety standards.
  • Perform maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and modifications as needed.
  • Stay updated on product information related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
  • Offer technical support and basic training to customers.
  • Assist technicians and the project management team, contributing to technical training and qualifications.
  • Be available for occasional after-hours/weekend shifts.
  • Travel to customer job sites as required.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of BAS/BMS or HVAC Controls experience
  • Proven project management experience in DDC Controls, building automation, or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, billing, and collections effectively.
  • Familiarity with construction standards, local codes, and safety requirements.
  • Experience working with one of the following BAS/BMS platforms: Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Automated Logic, Delta Controls, Distech, or Trane
  • Technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, AHU’s, VAV’s, boilers, chillers etc.
