Property Accountant

Our client primarily focuses on commercial real estate investments, and we are rapidly expanding in investment holdings throughout the country. Our current holdings include office, industrial, retail and multi-family properties or developments located across six states and our path for growth is significant. We are a registered RIA with the SEC and are part of the (confidential) Holdings group of companies which collectively has 11 Billion dollars of assets under management for clients across the county.

We have an outstanding opportunity to join our team as a Commercial Property Accountant! This position is responsible for auditing and reviewing financial statements and records of the individual Property Accountants.

• Full cycle accounting including review of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements/reporting packages as provided by Property Accountants
• Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatment
• Provide guidance on journal entries and ensure proper maintenance of the general ledger
• Coordinate with LCM fund accountants on equity transactions at the property level; provide guidance and communications to third parties
• Assist in common area maintenance, real estate tax, and other reconciliations
• Monitor cash balances
• Support for new third-party integration and onboarding process
• Support and assist with department and companywide initiatives and ensure company standards are implemented, met and maintained.
• Be an advisor to third party accounting staff and ensuring a high level of communication

Qualifications for Commercial Property Accountant:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
• Minimum two years of property management accounting experience
• Experience in, or understanding of, private equity/real estate management required
• A positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Project management skills a plus
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of Yardi Software a plus
