We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Mortgage industry. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute their expertise in commercial real estate accounting, CAM reconciliations, and other related areas. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of properties. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Conduct CAM reconciliations (Common Area Maintenance) and ensure accurate billing and recovery of property expenses.
4. Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.
5. Coordinate with property management teams to ensure accurate tenant billings.
6. Review and approve property invoices, and ensure timely payments.
7. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
8. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
9. Maintain up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in property accounting.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Property Accounting, preferably in the Mortgage industry.
3. Demonstrated expertise in CAM reconciliations and Commercial Real Estate Accounting.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Strong analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
9. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is preferred.
