Radiology Technology should have the following:
  • Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent with diploma/certification from accredited school of Radiology Technologist.
  • At least Two (2) years experience as a Radiology Technologist at a hospital or emergency room setting.
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • CPR/BLS Certification required.
  • Current license from the Texas Department of State Health Service for Radiology Technologist required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of x-ray technology.
  • Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for recordkeeping purposes.
  • Basic Computer knowledge.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Radiology Technologist to join our team in the Medical Imaging department. This is a permanent, full-time position, with a night shift schedule of three days per week, 12 hours per shift. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions. This position requires an individual who can work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, such as an emergency room.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with approved protocols and standards.
2. Operate radiology equipment safely and effectively, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
3. Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout procedures, including checking vitals and responding to patient concerns.
4. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members to evaluate image quality and determine if additional imaging is required.
5. Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation of procedures, patient histories, and radiographic findings.
6. Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures, including radiation safety measures and infection control protocols.
7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in radiologic technology.
8. Provide emergency room support, as needed, ensuring timely and accurate imaging for critical care patients.

Qualifications:

1. Current certification as a Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
3. Minimum of two years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, preferably in an emergency room setting.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of radiologic technology principles, procedures, and protocols.
5. Proficiency in operating a variety of radiology equipment and software.
6. Excellent patient care skills, with the ability to reassure and comfort patients during procedures.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
8. Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required.
9. Physical stamina and dexterity, with the ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver heavy equipment.
