As a Senior Tax Manager in our public accounting firm, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides high-quality tax compliance and planning services to our clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries, including real estate, manufacturing, distribution, and beyond. Your role will be critical in ensuring that our clients are in compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations and identifying opportunities to minimize their tax liability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales and use, and property taxes for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Ensure that our clients are in compliance with all tax laws and regulations and proactively identify areas of potential non-compliance.
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize our client's tax liability, including evaluating the tax implications of new business initiatives and acquisitions.
Work closely with the accounting and finance teams to ensure that all tax-related transactions are properly recorded and reported for our clients.
Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors and ensure that they are providing high-quality service to our clients.
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate any potential impacts to the leadership team and clients.
Provide guidance and training to other members of the tax team on tax-related matters.
Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or master's degree in taxation preferred.
7+ years of experience in public accounting tax compliance and planning, with at least 3 years in a management role.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including experience with pass-through entities and C-Corps.
Experience in real estate, manufacturing, or distribution is a huge plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals and clients.
Experience managing a team of tax professionals and providing guidance and support to team members.
