Job Details

We're seeking to add a sales-and-marketing-focused Vice President who will be responsible for accelerating our growth and guiding its entry into new markets during a period of rapid expansion. The Vice President will be a core member of our executive leadership team and will report directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who has a successful track record of both:

sourcing and closing profitable $10+MM deals with universities, state/local governments, K-12 schools, and/or hospitals

building and leading high-performing sales teams to drive growth

The Vice President will develop repeatable business development processes and will manage and lead the business development team to deliver results. We seek a high-performing and collaborative sales leader who is committed to excellence and passionate about helping to build an industry leading company.

Job Duties:

  • Manage and recruit Client Executives (and other business development team members) to achieve growth targets
  • Develop repeatable market-specific sales processes
  • Lead by example by directly performing a portion of client outreach and success management
  • Be an internal resource for business development best practices and support
  • Partner with engineering and construction team leaders to staff efforts and develop creative client solutions
  • Cultivate and manage senior level client relationships
  • Coach and develop less-experienced members of the business development team
  • Deliver high quality and creative solutions

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience building and leading successful sales teams
  • Proven experience managing complex sales cycles and selling large projects to universities, state/local governments, K-12 schools, and/or hospitals
  • Passion for energy efficiency, alternative energy, and/or sustainability
  • Expert knowledge of the energy industry, including the development of sustainable energy solutions for the next generation of buildings and facilities
  • Proven ability to design repeatable sales and marketing processes
  • General knowledge of the financial, technical and political aspects driving the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries
  • Self-directed personality with a commitment to excellence and high motivation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, personnel management, and leadership skills
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and engage directly with key customers and prospects
  • 10-20 years of relevant experience
